Crew finance app

So, not to overstate, but this app changed my financial life. Have you ever heard of the cash envelope system, in which each category of spending (groceries, gas, gifts, other things that don’t start with “g”) has an envelope you fill monthly with cash, and when it’s done, it’s done until it’s time to refill it? Great way to budget mindlessly since you only have to decide an amount once and then stick to it, but crap because it involves carrying around wads of cash. Crew lets you do this, virtually, and for freee!! It operates out of a bank, so you have a physical debit card, virtual card, Venmo access, etc. Sample below:

It even pays interest on checking, so you’re making like 3% a month for using it. My wife and I use it for all of our spending and it makes budgeting together a dream. Plus, the virtual card options are amazing, including one time use (great if you want someone to pick something up for you but don’t want to give them your card) and cards you can make expire by a certain date (phenomenal for free trials you don’t want to remember to renew).
